About
Thanks for being curious. Below, you can find out a little more about me and why this website was created.
About the website
I miss personal websites. Proper ones, covered in animated gifs, with horrible music that autoplays when you arrive. Ones with galleries of boxy jpegs and a million hyperlinks to eclectic, discovered marvels. As awful to navigate as they were, they at least felt human. So, that is what the Unbound Sea is meant to evoke; not the dreadful pop-ups and furious sensory assaults, but rather a human-built place for other human beings to visit.
Here, then, you'll find some of my fiction, poetry and explanations. All of the decorative elements are also drawn by me, again to make it feel more human (I am not a robot spy). There will always be some published and previously unpublished works available to read, in recognition of the social and cultural exclusion created by poverty. Given the recent rise in censorship and decline in public libraries, I also feel it is more important than ever that at least some words remain free.
When the website first launched, it was a collection of fiction in electronic format, so 'unbound'. My first name is Lucy or, for short, 'Sea'. This gives you the whole, rather straightforward, origin of the site's seemingly windswept and Romantic name.
Everything has been designed to be as accessible as possible. If you experience any difficulties during your visit, want to ask a question or make a comment about the website, please contact: support@unboundsea.com.
